March already?
My goodness, how time flies! Work has been keeping me fairly busy lately, at work and also doing things around the house. Have had some great weekends at home and been able to actually spend some time working on household projects! Have continued with the hallway lighting project...two types of recessed lighting, multiple ceiling holes cut, a few ceiling holes repaired, ducting configuration discovered, and lots of dust later has me now to the point were I think I can call the electrician to get the lights wired. Well, they can wire the downstairs hallway anyway, lol. The upstairs hallway is still in the paper-circle-template-taped-to-the-ceiling stage. Need to construct some can-light boxes for the ceiling to prevent all the insulation from falling through once I cut the hole (and of course so the insulation does not come in contact with the cans once they are installed). All in good time I suppose. Also started stripping and sanding the multiple layers of paint off the large beam in the living room. The worst is the layer on top of the original dark-dark-dark 70's era stain...it is the sticky layer that keep gumming up the sand paper, sticks to the scraper, rubber gloves, etc. It certainly is nice to see all the pastel pink color, that the previous owner was apparently so terribly fond of, disappear little by little. Again, all in good time :)
